Hi, I’m Laura.

I’m a freelance beauty editor and journalist who also writes about fashion, travel, shopping and other lifestyle topics.

I have 13 years of experience working for national newspapers, supplements and magazines. Most recently I was Beauty Editor at Reach Plc, the UK’s biggest national news publisher, working across titles like OK!, S Magazine and Notebook. I’ve also written for Women’s Health, Good Housekeeping, The Sun, i News and Eliza, and I’m Contributing Beauty Editor at The Style Life.

Over the years I’ve written numerous print and digital stories on everything from J.Lo’s latest manicure to deep dives into skincare ingredients. I’ve also directed still life and model shoots, organised beauty awards and interviewed some of the biggest celebrities on TV. I’m constantly asked for skincare recommendations, what the best UK spa hotels are and if brow serums really work.

I also edited the Reach magazines’ travel sections for years, a job that took me all over the world, from the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon to the souks of Marrakech and the rainforests of Borneo.

I regularly write e-commerce and social media content for publications, and I’ve produced marketing content for brands like Wallis and OK! Beauty Box.

I’ve also got certificates in proofreading, subediting, copywriting, SEO content writing and social media skills.

I’m available for editorial commissions, visual content, desk cover, copywriting and brand consultancy – please drop me a line if you’d like to work together.
